What five words describe your style?

casual, luxery, assymetrical, unexpected, wearable

Where did you learn your craft?

Aside from a couple of metalsmithing classes, I am completely self-taught.

Have you ever been published in a magazine, featured on television, etc?

Both actually, but not in relation to my jewelry-making!  I used to be a writer and was published in literary journals and magazines, and I’ve been on television as an actor in several commercials.

Can you briefly describe the process of creating your art?

Sometimes the design is fully formed in my mind and I merely have to translate it into wire and stone.  My one-of-a-kind pieces usually begin as a general impression, a very loose idea, which then unfolds as I work with the materials.  The end result can be very different from what I had in mind to begin with, but that is part of the fun!

What inspires you?

The gemstones themselves mostly.

When do you feel your most creative?

Very late at night.

How does creating make you feel?

centered & balanced

What colors make you happy?

The colors of the ocean- clear blue, aqua, pale greens with a hint of blue, etc.

What is your studio or work space like?

A tiny, dank room in the basement, nicknamed the “Dungeon”
